Frequently Asked Questions

How We Work
Once you’ve completed the form, our team will contact you to determine if you have a valid claim. From there, we’ll explain your options, and either we or the most suitable partner firm will work with you to manage your case moving forward.
Pension mis-selling has become a major issue in the UK, with independent financial advisers (IFAs) often urging clients to move their pensions into inappropriate schemes. This practice led to significant fines for both IFAs and banks. In many instances, the pension originally held by the customer was more advantageous than the one they were advised to switch to.

If you suspect you were given bad pension advice and felt coerced into transferring your pension, it’s worth exploring whether you could claim compensation for the financial losses you’ve suffered.
Did an adviser recommend that you transfer your existing pension into a Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP)? If you’re not experienced or knowledgeable about managing a SIPP, it’s possible you were given poor advice and weren’t fully informed about the risks associated with this type of pension.

If this sounds familiar, you may have been a victim of SIPP mis-selling and could be entitled to make a claim for compensation.
In 2015, the UK Government introduced reforms granting retirees greater flexibility with their pensions. However, many chose annuities that ultimately harmed their long-term financial security, leaving a significant number of retirees worse off.

Were you offered a full range of pension products? Did your annuity provide the option to include benefits for a spouse? Was your health properly considered? These are just a few ways you may have received poor financial advice. If you believe you were mis-sold an annuity, you could be eligible to make a claim.
FSAVC schemes function similarly to other personal pension plans and are available to members of occupational schemes looking to top up their pension.

Contributions are made to the FSAVC provider, who invests the funds. Over time, the returns from these investments can be used to provide retirement benefits. However, these benefits are often less favourable than those from an AVC scheme.

If you were advised to contribute to an FSAVC, this could be considered pension mis-selling.

Unfortunately, if you have already made a claim we will not be able to help you.

Redhawk legal is a free service where you can get in touch with one of our specialists to go through a free initial assessment to see if you may have a valid claim. Once referred, the multiple legal firms we work with offer a No-Win, No-Fee* agreement and will only take a percentage from the compensation if your claim is successful. If your claim is unsuccessful, you don’t have to pay any legal costs to the firm. You only ever pay anything if your claim is successful. Depending on the law firm you are referred to, fees may vary.

A Termination fee may be applicable depending on your chosen firm, we always advise to discuss this with your chosen firm’s representative and advise you to check your chosen / partnered firms’ terms and conditions where you will find a comprehensive outline of any associated termination fees which may apply.

We are also required to inform you that an introductory upfront fee of £25 is paid to Redhawk Legal (“the introducer agent”) for referring your case to your chosen legal firm. We must stress that this is not a deduction from your compensation

You do not need to use a claims management company to make a complaint to your financial advisor or pension company and if your complaint is unsuccessful, you can refer your claim to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) or Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) yourself for free.
